3 Days Angkor Wat Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Angkor's Grandeur Temples & Iconic Sunset

  • 08:00 AM: Hotel pick-up. Depart for the Angkor Enterprise ticket office.

  • 08:15 AM: Arrive at the ticket office to purchase your 3-day Angkor Admission Pass $ 62 per person ( your own account ) 

  • 08:45 AM: Proceed directly to Angkor Wat enter from the east gate with best lighting and less crowed option. 

  • 09:10 AM: Explore Angkor Wat. Take your time to walk through the galleries, admire the bas-reliefs, and climb to the upper levels (if accessible and open).

  • 11:45 AM: Visit Ta Prohm (the "Tomb Raider" temple). Allow ample time to wander through its atmospheric ruins, with ancient trees growing out of the stone.

  • 12:45 PM: Lunch at a local restaurant near Srah Srang. 

  • 02:00 PM: Head to Angkor Thom City.

    • South Gate: Stop for photos of the iconic causeway and the faces on the gate.

    • Bayon Temple: Marvel at the enigmatic smiling faces.

    • Baphuon Temple: Climb to the top for panoramic views (note: requires a good climb).

    • Terrace of the Elephants & Terrace of the Leper King: Explore these historical royal viewing platforms.

    • Phimeanakas the royal enclosure with King and Queen pools. 

  • 04:30 PM: Head to Phnom Bakheng the hilltop temple with beautiful panoramic scenery and expereince sunset over the 1000 years old temple ( optional is Pre Rup temple for less crowed option )  

  • Return to your hotel around 6 pmfor rest and relaxation.

Day 2: Angkor Outlying Temples & Sculpture Spectacle

  • 08:00 AM: Hotel pick-up.

  • 08:30 AM: Visit Preah Khan. This large, sprawling monastic complex is less crowded and offers a sense of discovery.

  • 10:00 AM: Continue to Neak Poan, a small temple on an island in the middle of a man-made lake.

  • 1:045 AM: Explore Ta Som, another charming smaller temple with a tree growing over its eastern gopura.

  • 11:15 AM: Visit East Mebon, a 10th-century temple-mountain, notable for its elephant sculptures.

  • 12:20 PM: Lunch at a local restaurant nearby (your driver can recommend a good spot).

  • 01:30 PM: Journey further out to Banteay Srei. Known as the "Citadel of Women," this exquisite temple is famous for its intricate pink sandstone carvings.

  • 02:15 PM: Visit the Cambodia Landmine Museum and Rehabilitation Centre. This provides an important and sobering insight into Cambodia's history and ongoing challenges.

  • 03:00 PM: Head to Pre Rup. This temple-mountain offers excellent panoramic views of the surrounding plains and very serene. 

  • 04:00 PM: Transfer back to your hotel.

Day 3: Angkor Hidden Gems Sunset & Floating Village

  • 05:00 AM: Hotel pick-up and proceed directly to sunrise at Angkor Wat when the dawn paints the beautiful color to the main towers and cool reflection shots from the holy ponds ( the guide will help to find best angle with less crowed spot and enjoy the picnic breakfast nearby so recommended to bring take a way breakfast boxes from your hotel ) 

  • 07:10 AM: Take an hour journey by going to visit the hidden gems of Beng Mealea the sprawling jungle temple with a few visitors and you can admire this large, sprawling ruin complex is less crowded and offers a sense of discovery.

  • 09:45 AM: Continue to visit the Kampong Phluk, a captivating village on the Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia's largest freshwater lake, near Siem Reap. Unlike truly "floating" villages, Kampong Phluk is primarily characterized by its unique houses built on towering stilts, some reaching 6-10 meters high. Take traditional boat ride through the waterways of the village and flooded mangrove forest. 

  • 12:30 PM: Lunch at a local restaurant nearby (your driver can recommend a good spot).

  • 01:30 PM: Transfer back to your hotel.
