Siem Reap Cambodia Travel Tips

Here are some tips for what tourists should bring when visiting Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia:

  • Angkor Wat Pass: This is essential! You can purchase a one, three, or seven-day pass, depending on how many temples you want to see. Prices are $37, $62 and $72 respectively (you can pay in US dollars or by credit card) and also buy online beforehand https://www.angkorenterprise.gov.kh/

  • Comfortable clothing: Angkor Wat is a sacred site, so visitors should dress modestly. This means clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. Be prepared for hot weather, so choose lightweight, breathable fabrics. Also, sturdy walking shoes are a must, as there will be a lot of walking and uneven terrain. Hat and sunglasses: The Cambodian sun is strong, so a hat and sunglasses are essential to protect yourself from the sun.

  • Sunscreen and insect repellent: Sunscreen is a must to protect yourself from sunburn. Insect repellent is also recommended, as there can be mosquitoes and other bugs.

  • Water and snacks: It can get hot and sweaty exploring the temples, so be sure to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. You may also want to bring some snacks, as there are not many food vendors inside the Angkor Wat complex.

  • Camera: You'll definitely want to capture all the amazing sights of Angkor Wat, so be sure to bring your camera.

  • Cash: While some places accept credit cards, it's always a good idea to have some cash on hand for smaller purchases, such as souvenirs or gratuities to some people who came to work and have done an excellent jobs to you.

  • Sense of adventure: Angkor Wat is an amazing place, so be sure to come with a sense of adventure and be prepared to be amazed!
